Wunderkammer, cabinets of wonder, melded collections
of naturalia, the products of nature, arteficialia, the
products of man, and scientifica, scientific books and
instruments. Wunderkammer were miniature museums,
microcosms of science, religion, natural philosophy
and natural and human history. They were testaments
to nature and knowledge documenting the exploration
and discovery of the known world. These pictures are
a Wunderkammer for our time linking the past and present,
a world encircled by the industry and technology of a
species ascended – a force of nature.
