These pictures reflect on the present portrayed through
the rich fabric of our historical artifacts. Artifacts
embody human will and the relationship between humans and
the natural world. Artifacts, our possessions, our tools
and languages document the flow of human innovation and
invention throughout our history, of how we processed,
worked and crafted earth’s materials – stone, wood,
clay, sand, metal ore, fiber, bone and skins – supporting
our evolution from nomadic hunter gatherers through the
development of agriculture, the domestication of animals,
and the invention of the wheel. They are the tea leaves
that tell the story of humanity.
